Authentication issue (wrong username/password) #694

Please see the Common Errors and Issues wiki page located at
enabling authentication leads to a "wrong username or password" message, but 
only when the user/password combination in the conf.php is the same as it is 
for the linux user. It works fine however when I disable the authentication in 
phpVirtualbox.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Changing the user/password to the same that hosts the vms and runs the 
vboxwebsrv.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect normal login, I get an authentication error.

What version of phpVirtualBox, VirtualBox, and PHP are you using? 
phpVirtualBox:4.2.4,  VirtualBox 4.2.12, Apache2, PHP5, Debian Squeeze

Please provide any additional information below.
