Manual plex install does not work #702

Open NilsNyberg opened 4 years ago

Hi,

I am using the latest version of OpenMediaVault on an Odroid HC2 NAS. I manually put the sub-zero.bundle in the plexmediaserver\Library\Application Support\Plex Media Server\Plug-ins folder. When i then go to app.plex.tv and click on plugins, it says "no plugins installed". Not sure what to do next, and I am quite new to working with NAS as well.

Best, Nils

There is no plugins anymore on Plex(Web). You can only configure SZ using the settings->agents menu. To have an actual UI for SZ you have to use kitana.

See #655

SZ does not show up in settings -> agents. Any suggestions for how to proceed?

ukdtom commented 4 years ago

Plugin's should still show in the Web Interface! ( With only access to preferences )

pannal commented 4 years ago

No they don't. At least not for me (PlexWeb Version 4.8.4-d12b992, PMS Version 1.18.2.2029). Only available in agent settings.

ukdtom commented 4 years ago

Then something is wrong in your end ;) Try https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/web/general

Above is 4.12.2-d1ed179

And tested against a PMS 1.18.3.2005

pannal commented 4 years ago

Ah, I searched for it in the default location, thanks! :)

ukdtom commented 4 years ago

And for @NilsNyberg

Please browse towards:

https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/web/general

Then on the left, select: Manage/Plugins

Does it show there?

NilsNyberg commented 4 years ago

Unfortunately no, it says "no plugins installed" when I check app.plex.tv. However, when I go to the plex ui from openmediavault (myNASip:32400/web/index.html#!/server/d6686b6c3eb4ff3961da9c58142399dabadcf2e0/directory) and click on plugins and then "install plugins" I can see SZ when I click the the "recently updated" option. I can then also click install, after which it loads for a bit and seemingly looks like its installed, and gives me the option to "update" or "uninstall". But it is never installed and I can never find it in the plugins. Also, if I refresh this page, it says "install" again, indicating it was never installed. If I press "updated" after I "installed" it, it says "Sub-Zero couldnt be updated, please check the log for more info". I have attached the plex log files here.

Thanks for your help!

Nov 17, 2019 15:12:59.685 [0xa35ff400] DEBUG - HTTP 404 response from GET https://bundle-static.plex.tv/plexinc-agents/Sub-Zero.bundle/master/Contents/Resources/icon-default.jpg

If you look in the Sub-Zero.bundle directory, is there a directory named Contents there, or is it below a masterdirectory?

rufusNevigan commented 4 years ago

I believe I'm seeing the same (or very similar) issue. I've attached my log, to me it looks like an issue with importing the subliminal_patch but I could be wrong.

In answer to the previous response there is indeed a directory named Contents in Sub-Zero.bundle

Let me know if any further info would be of use. com.plexapp.agents.subzero.log

Problem solved. Seems it was due to a corrupt download. Ripping it out and starting from scratch fixed my issues.
