Happens during installation

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Installation fails
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.8.5pre
Please provide any additional information below.
During the installation process i get the message "Insatll Failed"
In the installer log i can see the following entries:
Failed to verify basesystem.pkg
faild to download package from
file:://localhost/system/installation/packages/basesystem.pkg and no alternate
source.
install failed: the installer could not copy the necessary support files
please help
