Mailing list #22

Hi,

The current panosc mailing list is becoming very crowded, with frequent non-targeted emails.

To reduce the amount of emails we all receive that do not concern us we propose to create the following mailing lists:

  1. info@panosc.eu --> Used for external communication. Anyone can join. Responsibility for this mailing list falls under WP9 Communication
  2. management@panosc.eu --> Used for communication within the Project Management Committee. Only members of PMC, WP leaders or their deputies can join. Responsibility for this mailing list falls within WP1 Management
  3. executive@panosc.eu --> Used for communication within the Executive Board. Only members of the EB, the project coordinator and WP1 leader can join. Responsibility for this mailing list falls under WP1 Management
  4. wp1@panosc.eu , ... , wp9@panosc.eu --> A mailing list for each work package used for communication within the work package. Membership decided by WP leader. WP leader is responsible for the mailing list
  5. contact@panosc.eu --> This could be for administration related to the panosc mailing lists and github

This means that we plan to close panosc@esrf.fr as it is becoming less useful and targeted over time.

We need at least one more:

  1. observers@panosc.eu --> all PaNOSC observers

General discussions as have been happening on panosc@esrf.fr should in the future happen on github issues and slack.

I have created the mailing lists with our domain name provider and we will populating them asap. One minor issue with the mailing lists is I am not sure how to limit posts only to members (if we want that).

During the kick-off it was suggested to create a new mailing list with the EU Funding experts at each partner site. This seems like a good idea, so what about EUexperts@panosc.eu ?

@andygotz Did we act on the suggestion above? Otherwise we could close this issue, as the management of mailing lists is no longer an issue.
