Currently we check for status.success? but that can be caused by either

a successful execution which fails compilation
an unsuccessful execution (which could be caused by just about anything)

That led to a lot of time wasted on tracking why concurrent context tests were flaky. It turns out that they started concurrent "first runs" which tried to compile formats concurrently, sometimes succeeding and sometimes failing.

Since I plan on migrating to l3build, this is not relevant anymore.
