Friendly COM Port Name on Mac/Linux #189

The device name for the COM Port on Mac and Linux is too long for the field.  

Request "friendly" short name be used instead- perhaps limit it to displaying 
only the last one or two tokens of the device path.

Discussion of other solutions will be accepted.

Closed because the current names used are the common way to express it on Mac 
and Linux; no need for change.
