Installation from source instructions #69

The instructions on how to install from source that we have in the README do not work. Doing

pip install -e .

works but the [dev,docs] options don't. I suspect this was changed when we had some improvements in the pyproject.toml, but would be worth double checking.

Im getting a solid ‘works on my machine’ here.

Can I get the following information from you:

Platform Python/pip Version Terminal Anything else…

I will spin up a VM and try building this in Debian.

No problems installing this on Debian

We tried in Mac. It was @WDWidanage's laptop, but I think @muhammedsogut had a similar issue so they can provide more info.
