well as the headline says then Owncloud isn't detection Failed login attempts from Public IP's? i can fine see my failed login attempts from my LAN/DMZ but not from public IP's.

Ubuntu 14.04 Owncloud 8.1.0 Apache Latest version php5 - lates version
