Garden Box edition of Hair Algae does not inject (using the latest release: https://github.com/pareldraakje/CCSF-Grendelpack/releases/tag/agentsv0.8 ). Gives the 'contact the author' error message and then self-destructs my engine.exe.

whoops, was most likely https://github.com/pareldraakje/CCSF-Grendelpack/releases/tag/agentsv0.8 - this set of files, rather than the meso itself. @pareldraakje ?

For now I ticked 'pre-release' for that set of files, there are still aquatic things in the pipeline so I guess I'll wait till those are finished and then make a complete aquatic pack, while fixing the hair algae. Thank you for the bug report!
