multiple select is not un-selecting on text input

What steps will reproduce the problem?
I am in a requirement with this type of dates selection:

but it is not working of text input field.. It is not able to de-select.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Output expected similar to this one in the link but on text field.

I am not able to de-select the dates to re-select the correct dates.

Please provide a URL to a page displaying the problem.
Cannot provide because the elements are used in private authentication page.

What version of the datepicker are you using? On what operating system? And 
Which Browser?

I am using v2 of datepicker. I tried with latest firefox and chrome on windows7.

I have checked it is working properly on the link to select and de-select but 
not working on text input field.
