After assembling ~50 Cores, I've noticed that the components that most consistently jumper are the resistors in the upper left corner of the top side of the board, as well as the resistors associated with the 3 LEDs. I'll increase the spacing between all of these.
Partial solution here will be to replace LED resistors with a resistor array. I'll pick out a part number for this
Let's go with this component for the LED array: http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/EXB-38V102JV/Y9102TR-ND/256531
Since there are 4 resistors, we can either use the 4th one for the user LED (if it still ends up located in the near proximity), or we can just leave the last one unused.
but a different value, right ? (I'm not checking the current schematic - but 1K seems high.)

We've been using 1K resistors for the LEDs and they're still obnoxiously bright; although I imagine the RGB may be significantly less so

OK - then no prob. The problems of not having a schematic.

Can someone with a non-lite version of eagle 6 please move the entire board assembly 0.2" north and east. I need to be able to extend the board south and I only have the lite version of eagle 6 which doesn't let me work at negative coordinates at all.
Let me know when I can do a bit pull. On 27 Jun 2013 14:57, "Andy Warner" andyw@pobox.com wrote:

Damn auto correct on this phone "git pull" of course.... On 29 Jun 2013 15:42, "Andy Warner" andyw@pobox.com wrote:

My buddy is making the change for you... and I'll submit the pull request in a second here ;-) Just working off the current files in the EAGLE directory.
@andyw-lala https://github.com/sprk/core/pull/15
Awesome! If you make changes please make them to the 'satish' branch, since that represents the latest for the new design.

oh cool, sorry I missed that fact. Hopefully if you still need this change I can get it to you in the morning sometime when my buddy wakes up :) for now I'll close the current pull request.
Although we haven't had any manufacturability issues so far, one way to ensure that we won't is by increasing the spacing between our smaller 0603 components. It may not be necessary, but worst case it's a wasted couple hours, and best case it has a noticeable impact on manufacturing yield. So let's do it.
