it could be cool, but if i am not wrong this mean that we need to build a Facebook application ;) !
I think it'd be more about using their APIs than to make embedded applications.
I am not sure of what i am saying because i haven't a lot of experience in this field. But i worked on a social network and to be able to post message on the facebook profile we had to create an app which work like a gate, it's transparent for the user but it's for privacy etc ...
It seems that since 2011 an app must exist for token management.

Then we can start with twitter. It seems to be easier.
It seems you are right about Facebook Apps. @Plutec might help us with this.
Another social features it would be very interesting to implement is Mozilla's Open Badges. It is an achievement-like system to gamify the web.
What about adding some social features, such as facebook/twitter login and the option posting achievements on facebook's wall and twitter? Pretty much like Sword & Swordcery does.
