Steps to reproduce

  2. hide some columns from view
  3. clicked apply
  4. columns show up changes as expected.
  5. log off
  6. log on
  7. column back to default missing any changes

This seems to be linked to a bucket of issues in the past.. From first glance it looks like making it possible to permanently save a column layout would close a bunch of tickets - so marking this as a good first issue and medium priority

I agree this is the handy feature for everyday usage.

Hello to all! I just discovered PartKeepr and i'm testing it on my Synology. I have a question regarding this topic: Since i ran into same bug, i found out that editing of names, columns...IS saved if i create a profile and save it. The problem is that log-off an on again program doesn't choose this created profile, so each time i must go into "columns edit", choose my profile and it's there again.

Is there any chance for program to choose (or retain) my profile at each login?

Thanks!

When you choose your preset, there's a button to set it as default, but it doesn't work 🤷🏻 Sadly that's not the major problem of the repo, having to set up a Debian Stretch to install it :(

This is still a bug. Have they given up on this project?

Why was the project abandoned? Truly is a great tool.

it really is the best... all new alternatives are not even close.

Would be nice if some good programmer took up the project and made a fork to continue development.

One thing I really need in PartKeepr is a set Price for each part, not the average. Must have this in order to make a complete cost BOM list of a product.

Maybe someone could modify it for me, I'm willing to pay.

As far as I know, the main developer Felicia had to give up the project: https://www.patreon.com/posts/its-end-for-me-22527966 She had issues with her health and couldn't work on PartKeepr anymore. https://www.patreon.com/posts/partkeepr-whats-25850471

I think, the project is open to be forked but requires much work to be stable. For me personally the Inventree project solved the problem of keeping the inventory. https://inventree.org/ you can easily self-host it with Docker or TrueNAS
