A way to have a project also be a part. Or a part be a collection of parts. #293

This is a feature request. I would like to add a part to my library that is actually a project. the thought goes like this: add parts a, b, c and d Create project SubAssemblyA with parts a, b Create project SubAssemblyB with parts c, d It would be nice if SubAssemblyA and SubAssemblyB showed up as parts in inventory. Then when I Create a report I could not only "remove parts from stock" for a,b,c, and d but also increase the stock of the SubAssemblyA and SubAssemblyB.

The natural evolution of this would be I could create a TopAssembly that has SubAssemblyA and SubAssemblyB as its parts.

Really its all about having parts have the ability to be made of other parts.

Meta-Parts are now implemented, so half of this feature request is done. Meta-Projects are not yet implemented, moving this issue to 1.3

Projects managed like other parts, with sub-projects as part of the project, like that described above, would be incredibly useful for us. In fact, we can't use this system until that is implemented.

This would be very very useful to us as well. Is there any chance this will be implemented soon?

I am sorry, but I think I have to tell you that your feature will unfortunately not be implemented in the near future. There is a problem with missing programming knowhow affecing also other issues. As long as not successor programmer is found, no new features will be available.
