What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open WCP in child site
2. click differences
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Error: Notice: Only variable references should be returned by reference in
/[path]/child/administrator/components/com_wcp/helper.php on line 108

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
WCP v1.0.1
LAMP

Probably it cannot connect to the master site database.
