The main site of Firefox Nightly is nightly.mozilla.org. Since firefox.com is in the hands of Mozilla, and is people recognize it with the browser (even though firefox.com is just a redirection to mozilla.org/firefox), using this domain has some advantages over nightly.mozilla.org.

I suggest setting a redirection from nightly.firefox.com to the same target as nightly.mozilla.org as a starting point, and maybe use it for some more official matters.

I think it won't be accepted by marketing because they want to emphasize that Firefox comes from Mozilla (and there is no beta.firefox.com), the reason is that there are studies showing that user retention is higher when users associates Firefox with Mozilla (because Mozilla has a good image)
