[MEGA] The drawing system

This mega-issue collects all past issues related to the drawing system. It includes several bugs in the Qadence 1 implementation, and some features which we should try to address when we implement a Qadence 2 drawing system.

For now the below issues are kept "closed as not planned" to unbloat a bit the issue board.
