Description of the problem

This is something that started a couple of weeks ago, out of the blue. I have the dock positioned on the top of the screen, displaying horizontally, with padding from the edge set to 100, intelligent hiding active. When in overview, even though I can see the notification button and the searchbar, I can't click on them. I can toggle the notification list with the shortcut Super+v and interact with it, but I can't toggle it with a mouse click. Same happens to every other icon on the topbar when the workspaces are enough to cover the width of the screen.

I've run into this problem too. It seems that the padding increases the physical size on the screen that workspaces-to-dock takes, rather than moving itself down by 100px. Then, whenever you try to click on anything button behind in the padded area, it takes the focus and doesn't allow anything behind to be interacted with.

Same issue, running Gnome 3.36.3 on Xorg.
