I have a similar problem. Using QuickSynergy 0.9.0 with two Ubuntu 10.10
machines, I can connect just fine (according to the log), but I can't switch
screens.

I have two machines using ubuntu 11.04. quick synergy is installed I am
following the step by step guide filling the correct IP address or name, have
un-installed and re-installed and still no luck. Maybe it is a "workspace"
issue? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

I have a similar issue on two ubuntu 11.04 machines. When I first installed the
newest beta version I got some error, so I went with the most recent supported
version. Strangely I can set my old computer as the server and my new one as
the client, but I obviously want it the other way around with my new computer
as the server.

Hey nimajne, this seems to be a dead issues for any solutions so far; I have
been searching for any kind of suggestion or solution and can't find anything,
I did find ome ideas from about 3 years ago but not current and didn't solve
the problem. So that is when I started asking in forums but up until now there
have been no replies, nothing. So, I am wondering, is the question or problem
so simple that I should be able to figure it out,or am I looking in the wrong
forums or asking the wrong question(s)? Don't know. Hopefully someone that
knows something will come up with a suggestion. Sure hope so.

Bump- I'm having same problem. Just installed QuickSynergy on Ubuntu Lucid
(10.4) and, having followed the user guide, I find that when I Execute on both
machines, they behave as usual-- no mouse sharing.

Okay I asked back in May 2011, now I am using 12.04 and still would like to
connect using quicksynergy....I wonder is this so basic or simple or what?
Seems it is still an issue for some. Thanks.

A year or so ago, I spent a lot of time trying to get two 10.04 machines to
connect and/or one 10.04 and one XP. No luck. Gave up, but in the process I
think that I determined that it is a port issue. Not understanding that sort of
think, I could take it no further.
Does that trigger an "aha!" with anyone who might understand port assignments,
or whatever the correct term is?
