in order to support https://github.com/rgeo/activerecord-postgis-adapter the case checks in the Database class have to be extended for the postgis adapter.

Many, many months late, but, just took your work and added it to the repo in 2f6bf5213b64d8dcc5f969e316f8fb91f4bc6cc0 after refactoring the database code in d1ba00b20a8247dafa064ef1920e5d98b253e618. Many thanks for the commits!
