Api not responding for requests containing certain patterns of special characters

Certain special characters such as (let us call it invalid tokens): *, [, ], {, }, (, ), : (might have many more ASCII/Non ASCII characters)

With patterns:

• invalid character or
• string consisting of invalid characters (one or more invalid characters)

Does not return any response

There might be many more patterns, but found this one where the api returns no response.
