tarball version does not match directory vresion #31

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. tar xzvf tesseract-%{version}.tar.gz
2. cd tesseract-%{version}

What is the expected output? 
(no error)

What do you see instead?
"No such directory"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
N/A

Please provide any additional information below.
This inconsistency makes building an RPM slightly messy.
