node edit not saving in Safari #17

Open patdunlavey opened 13 years ago

I've found that if I try to edit pages when logged in through Safari, I can get to the Edit page and make changes, but they're not saved when I click Save (I'm just returned to the Edit screen). Any clues? Firefox works fine.

Now that is weird. I can confirm it in Safari. I found on my dev instance that if I changed the amin theme (from Rubik) to Garland (the base theme that Drupal comes with), saving does work. I found some issues posted that seem to suggest that there may be a namespace conflict between some wysiwyg editors and the Rubik theme. I didn't find any reports of saving not working though. But the number of people using the YUI editor is pretty small, and the number who use it with the Rubik theme is, no doubt, a lot smaller, so it would be surprising to find much chatter about problems resulting from this combination.

So my initial guess is that YUI Editor and the Rubik theme don't get along. I'll log this issue, but probably not do anything about it, for the time being at least. I think my preferred solution would be to switch to a different admin theme like RootCandy (my fav), but I would have to port over some customizations, so I don't think it's just a matter of dropping in a new theme and enabling it.

As for IE, if you can document that problem a little more fully, I'll have a look at it.
