I would also like this feature - I love the sequencers and it would be amazing to be able to sequence root note and scale changes using cv inputs

@tinyrobot thanks for the feedback. I've worked with Joe to get the functionality he asked for, but I think it is different than what you are asking for.

What I built for him is the ability to enter cent value for each step. This allows for the microtoality he asked for. It's that what you are looking for?

What you asked for sounds different to me. If you simple want to CV control the scale and root note you could set the scale to chromatic and then use an external scale module that has cv controls for that. Would that achieve what you are looking for?

Let me know what you think. I want to make sure I understand what you are asking for so if I build something it achieves what you want.

tinyrobot commented 2 hours ago Thanks @patheros - yes you're correct, the request was separate cv control for both scale and the root note, so I could sequence key changes for example. I have actually achieved what I needed to do using https://library.vcvrack.com/Stoermelder-P1/EightFace and I could also use an external scale quantizer as you mentioned to achieve the same thing.

The main reason for the request was that I often use a path set sequencer as a central part of patches to drive various voices, so it would be convenient to be able to change the root note and the scale without other modules involved - however I do understand that there's limited space for adding more controls, and I can achieve this in other ways, so I'm happy to do that instead. Thanks again for the great modules!

I'm thinking what you want might be doable with another expander. I'm wondering thought what kinds of controls you would like.

Would 3 knobs and 3 CVS like the Quantizer from JW work for you? Or would you like something else?

@patheros - thanks for considering this feature! I think an expander would work great - I also think those three controls would be exactly what I would want.

tinyrobot and I talked some on discord. One of the things they were looking for is randomizing notes some times. I pointed them at https://library.vcvrack.com/PathSet/OneShot. That plus https://library.vcvrack.com/JW-Modules/Quantizer seems to get the job done for them.

@tinyrobot I'm going to close this issue for now, but it something else changes please do reach out again. I want to make my modules as awesome as possible.
