We are using un-abhaya which we prefer over noto fonts

See the difference for yourself; it is up to you to decide what is best for the project rather than personal preference.
definitely not a personal preference, earlier we had used noto as well. If you want to compare screenshots at least increase the font size to a comparable level. also think why newspapers and most sinhala books use abhaya instead of noto.

If you meant that the screenshots I've attached are too small to see, you can enlarge them by clicking on them. I can clearly see the distinction.
I hope you understand the difference between display and print. (https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-difference-between-a-screen-font-and-a-printer-font)
Lankadeep site uses Malithi Web while Divaina uses Nato
1 Google Abhaya Libre 2 Google Noto Sans Sinhala
I believe Google fonts are screen optimized, and those Sinhala fronts were created by https://github.com/mooniak I suppose.

no that is not what I meant. you need to have the same size letters in both screenshots

abhaya libre was created by mooniak. I created the UN-abhaya and rest of the UN fonts to look better on screen https://pitaka.lk/tools/unicode/download_unicode.htm#id-un-abhaya

You have to reduce the font size until same amount of content is displayed on both sides Left has 2 paragraphs while right has only one.

Perhaps the issue is that your font lacks equivalence space between some characters.
I just tried rendering views with some Sinhala fonts from Google. It appears sharper and more appealing than the current version.
