Similar project already established with resilient mesh networking and ad-hoc wifi -> Serval Project #4

Hello,

Reading your problem statement and proposed solution, the Serval Project is very similar and is already established. They have already been working through the issues of hardware support for ad-hoc WiFi and have some good solutions in place. It's also designed from the perspective of no / or minimal centralized hardware in crisis situations.

Have a look, I'm sure there is potential to collaborate with them / together on this idea for patient-chat,

Thanks @MrInfonaut, I was aware of the Serval project (and think it's great) but wasn't aware that it had aspirations to provide video chat without a server (purely peer-to-peer).

The "Serval Mesh" or "batphone" application referenced in the Serval GitHub doesn't appear in the Google Play Store (the link in the Serval Readme is dead). However, there is a downloadable APK, and I've installed it on my phone. It doesn't appear to offer the option of video calls.

Have I missed something obvious?
