I get this as well, exact same setup and error. It used to work.

No idea. Is there a way to view the full log of remote torrent adder? Maybe
seeing that full response instead of just the few in the alert box would be
helpful.

RTA doesn't log, so no. getting to the full response somehow would be nice, i
guess... but i can't think of a clean way of making this available, and most
error messages are kinda short or don't say much anyway.

as for the issue at hand in this particular situation, please take a look at
the instructions in TryNewCode and install the attached version of RTA. in
chrome://extensions/, under the newly-imported RTA entry, you should have a
line saying something to the effect of "Check views: Background page". Click
that link and keep that window open. Now try to add a torrent on some page. The
error notification should appear once more, and the developer tools window
should contain the full HTML output that transmission sent.

It fails only when specifying a directory. Leaving the directory field blank (=
using default directory) won't give any error and torrent is added correctly.

I'm using transmission which doesn't have an option for directory within RTA.
