Currently, the Figma variable collections are each exported as a separate file. Each one needs to be saved separately. This is an error prone and time consuming manual step.
Best solution: automatically save the files to their correct locations with a single click. I believe @mfrances17 found this wasn't possible.
Better solution: save the files as a zip file so that only one click is needed to download and then they unzip to the proper folders.
For the correct end location for the tokens, look in packages/module/tokens
Note also that palette.color.json exists in two places to support light and dark theme generation.
