Clean Up Pipelines Demo in Demo App #142

Describe the problem A clear and concise description of the problem. Which components are affected?

Following conversations with @jeff-phillips-18 regarding repeated challenges consumers are facing when reusing this code, the pipelines demo in demo-app-ts needs some cleanup to make the pipelines starter code more reusable and customizable for consumers.
