Wallpapers get chosen randomly from gallery #103

Describe the bug

After selecting and applying the wallpaper to home screen and lock screen, after a certain period of time it changes to a random image from my gallery, instead of changing to other material or doodle wallpapers.

I turned off battery optimization for this app but still encountered the issue. Both the Google Play Store and F-Droid store versions are giving me this issue.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to 'Appearance'
  2. Choose any design,
  3. Choose any variant,
  4. Keep Night mode at auto,
  5. Keep use dark text turned on,
  6. For other options, use any option other than off (After encountering the bug, it occurs even when I try to set a new wallpaper with other options turned off),
  7. Click on set wallpaper,
  8. Apply for both home and lock screen,
  9. See wallpaper changed to something from the gallery (not what I want) after some number of hours.

Expected behavior

The wallpapers should change to only the ones in the app, not anywhere else, including the gallery.

Hi, thanks for your report! It seems that Doodle is simply crashing and your phone automatically replaces the Doodle wallpaper with an image from your gallery. Because Doodle hasn't any permissions, it is impossible that Doodle changes the content to one of your photos. Please download the latest release (already on GitHub or in a few days on Google Play) and try it again. If the issue still occurs, please go in Doodle to "Other options" > "Display logcat" and copy the log there to insert it here.
