This is interesting, but what if the Printer does not have a serial or does not detect

Also, how does one add additional plugins that you have not pre-allocated?

if it does not have a serial it can be locked to a usb port. That is what I do with my ender 3s.

You can add plugins in the octoprint instance as normal.
