Region unlocking not always working

It seems that region unlocking / psnee injection isn't working correctly.

Tested on at least 2 Pal 5502 playstation. Always getting the "insert playstation disk" message, no matters the img region

Can (mostly) boot games from freepsxboot / tonyhax via memory card tho

Do you always have this message after updating to v0.0.3 ? What's the image you're using ?

I tried NASCAR Rumble (USA), and PAL and Crash Bandicoot 3 PAL, always same issue https://imgur.com/3ZPL0J5 This this with 8GB SD Card, I get this insert CD Always, with 16GB SD Card it's doesn't read it, just pico led keep flashing in green.

I had the same issue once, was a soldering problem

Can you check that RPI pin 6 (GP 4) is only connected to pin 3 of the FFC connector (point number 3 on this pic

If it touches an adjacent pin (pin 5 or 7), or there's any bridging. Region unlock won't work at all

Hello again, first of all I don't have the FFC, I'm soldering directly to the points, I even changed the pico once again, and resoldered everything from the beginning, and made sure nothing is bridged, and still have same issue of insert cd, yet only once in the previous try with the old pico, game sometimes launch (PS Logo) then turns black screen, but this never happened again, now as I said earlier I'm stuck with Insert CD as you can see here, I uploaded pictures for my soldering https://imgur.com/a/11Bc3VJ Also when I tried to compile picostation (PSX) I got an error (For dev matters), although it worked for other consoles and compliled without issues. Hopefully you can help me bypass these issues.

The ps logo + black screen is the "normal" behaviour.

Did you try with a real unirom image ? (Region unlocking isn't working with multi track games) You can find it here: https://github.com/JonathanDotCel/unirom8_bootdisc_and_firmware_for_ps1/releases/

If you can, try booting freepsxboot or tonyhax from a memory card, then close the lid and see if it helps

Tried the file you sent me, still it's not booting, always insert cd, is there a way through serial port to read picostation details?

You can use usb serial monitoring on the Pico via your computer (can't tell you how tho)

This stuff is a bit complex. It is normal for the ODE to not be reliable at this stage. You should work around the need to unlock with a Unirom cart (for example), and test whether the ODE even is able to send data.
