Previously a user had to do a manual search on github to find the repo by username "paulyoung" and "fontello*".

Thanks for this. I published 0.0.4 to npm which includes this change.

I'm interested to know your use case if you're using fontello-cli.

Currently I'm not using it, but I plan to integrate the font download into my grunt process. And I was looking for a grunt plugin which is able to do this. Your script will be a good starting point.
