i'd like to "not" record from back channels #11

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Insert probe
2. Find driven activity
3. some channels are still out of the brain.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

For these channels not in the brain, they collect an amazingly lot of noise
activity, is there a way to not have them collect data and thus keep the file
sizes down?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

I'd like to be able to click "off" recording of select channels, not sure if
this would be a RVpds module or GUI interface and was wondering if you had an
idea.
Cheers,
  Elliott

Elliott,

There are a couple of things you could do about 'floating' channels. You could
raise the voltage threshold while searching for units so that no noise would be
detected. Alternatively, you can create an adapter using a second 18 pin dip
socket and short (using solder and wire) the unused channels to ground on the
headstage. You would have to consult the TDT System 3 manual for channel
mapping of the headstage. Also, the brain surface should be covered with
mineral oil or saline so that none of the channels are floating in air.

Hope this helps,
Dan
