Average speed coloring changes to much on zooming

When zoomed out the skipped details of the high level view change the speeds

The first bit of the screen seems to always be red, on lines on the edge this 
color
stands out.

loops and other curves throw the speed with a straight distance from a to b

Fixed stepping improves this. Loops and blending still cause bit a blurs and 
overlaps...
