Saving problem Enterprise Configuration (HTC Wildfire) #7

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I go to ACE , select the configuration needed to be modified
2. Then I go to the Enterprise Configuration, enter the EAP (as TTLS), Phase 2
(as PAP), enter the identity and password.
3. Now I go back to main menu and return to ACE to check if my entry is saved,
but see the complete information entered in enterprise configuration is gone, I
see nothing is saved.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The enterprise configuration is not getting saved and internet is not getting
connected.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using android 2.1 and version V0.10C20100924 for ACE.

Please provide any additional information below.
I am using HTC Wildfire.

I'm looking into it. Could you provide a log with aLogcat taken after editing
the parameters?

Possibly related to http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=8687 ?
Phase 2 authentication should be saved as just the name (i.e. "PAP"), rather
than with "auth=" (i.e. "auth=PAP").

I'll look into it. Could you also send me a log taken with aLogcat?

According to wpa_supplicant, "auth=PAP" is correct for phase2.

I'll try to do some tests to see if that's the case anyway.

confirmed on Xperia X8.

Some settings are put to default values when I leave their configuration screen
(i.e. not saved), incl. Enterprise Configuration.

Some other settings seems to be saved, incl. Key Management, Auth Protocols,
Group Ciphers, Pairwise Ciphers, Security Protocols... but only for some
combinations: some values get reinitialized from time to time.

Where does the app store these "Entreprise Configuration" settings? would it by
(lack of) chance require root access to system files that Sony Ericsson
prevents?

I'm willing to help if possible, still need a log or another test?
Thanks in advance: any update would be really appreciated!

Yesterday I have upgraded Android 2.2 on my HTC Wildfire. Now I am able to save
the enterprise configuration correctly.
Next week I will try these settings at school.

I can confirm that on Wildfire with the Android 2.2 it's working like a charm.
