"Special inputs" seems not to work

Two issues noted:

- it is possible to type many non-numeric characters per field. picture 
attached.
- when started on a mac with

Contents/Frameworks/XUL.framework/Versions/16.0/xulrunner -app 
/Users/bob/squeak/PhobosDemo.app/Contents/Resources/application.ini

the text fields do *not* accept keyboard input, even though one field may have 
the blue focus highlighting

- when started with

/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -app 
/Users/bob/squeak/PhobosDemo.app/Contents/Resources/application.ini

text fields *do* accept input.

ok, I will try it on Mac. 
AFAIK with the first way of starting the keyboard is not handeled for whole 
XULRunnuer, not only for special inputs.

have you updated the JS side from the Git? Because it contains some new 
supporting code

I think this has just crossed my pain threshold. I'm going to set it aside and
