No access to part of the Library #160

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start exploring the Library
2. Accessing a folder named "docs" will result in a "No Connection" message

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The directories contain directories and files; the particular case happens
inside a folder set up as a link, but I also tried the real path and the
problem persists. I also checked permissions.

Instead of the listing I get a "No Connection" message and using the "up" icon
does not return to the previous directory. I can get back to the home folder
using the "home" icon, though.

What version of VLC Remote are you using?

0.5.5

What version of VLC are you using?

2.0.0

What version of Android are you using?

4.0.3

Which Android device are you using?

Samsung Galaxy S2

Please provide any additional information below.

The path either way (through the link or the direct one) contains no spaces.

The directory in question is inside a disk partition different from the
partition for /home.
I can reach right into the folder:
/home/myuser/data -> /media/data
And it lists the contents; if I try to access a folder inside it works OK until
I reach a folder named "docs" where the issue described above happens.

I tried to create a "docs" folder at /home/myuser/docs and the Library works
with that one.

I'm having the same problem
In Windows, I have mapped my network drive to the Z: drive
I've set my home folder of vlc remote to a media folder on the Z drive.
Now I can't get back to any other drive.
Pressing the up one folder button does not bring me to "this computer".

I guess there is a problem with symlinks or such?
