vlc HTTP interface no longer uses the hosts file, but instead a password #210

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. enable http interface in vlc 
2. set a password to be able to use http interface

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
need to provide a password for vlc server in vlc remote but no option available

v0.5.5
