Super+TAB does not act like ALT+TAB #24

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Make sure at least three windows on your current workspace are open and
that you are focused (ie. it can accept input) on one of them
2. Make sure superswitcher is running
3. Press Super+TAB twice

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
On the first Super+TAB you should switch to a different window, and on the
second key press you should be back at the original window. Instead, it
just switches to a third window. If you keep doing this you will see that
the behavior is just like Super+down key.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
superswitcher 0.6
libwnck-2.18.0
Slackware 12.0
fluxbox 1.0.0

Weird, works for me.

When you say "Press Super+TAB twice", which of the following two do you mean?
I'm
guessing (1), but I'd like to confirm that.

1.
Press down Super. Press down TAB. Release TAB. Press down TAB. Release TAB.
Release Super.

2.
Press down Super. Press down TAB. Release TAB. Release Super. Press down
Super.
Press down TAB. Release TAB. Release Super.

Either way, both work more or less the same as ALT+TAB does, on my setup. For
example, doing (1) (either using Super or Alt) doesn't return me to my original
window, but instead activates the third window. Doing (2) but replacing Super
by Alt
returns me to the original window.

Yes, #1. Though, I also did this in quick succession at other times:

Press Super, Hit Tab (while Super still pressed)
Immediately let go of Super and then Tab
repeat the process

Sorry, I meant #2 and NOT #1. My description in the second part is correct,
however.
As I said in my original post, you should be back at the original window after the
second set of key presses.

this behavior is supposed to be expected I think. Super switcher is supposed to
go
through your windows in a list instead of last focused order.

Super-Up and Super-Down is supposed to go through the windows in list order,
but
Super-Tab is supposed to be in most-recently-used order, like Alt-Tab.

Still, as I mentioned earlier, I'm unable to reproduce phillip.c.warner's
observed
behavior.

What Window Manager are y'all testing Super Switcher on?

When I get a chance I will test Super Switcher on fluxbox again.

I use metacity. Superswitcher is known to crash relatively frequently on
Compiz. I'm
told that superswitcher works with KDE 3's default window manager (I forget
what it's
called). I'm not sure about the less common WMs.
