Your Environment

When using the uploader occasionally my pump stops receiving SG values and just displays --- on the pump display.

On the android uploader it displays .00 mmol/L (Double down arrow) Pump time Correct Active insulin correct Rate of Change: DoubleDown

Uploader Error Code

None

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

1.Connect carelink usb to Phone

  1. Confirm Values uploaded
  2. Sometime later (minutes/hours) pump stops reading SG values.
  3. Unplug Carelink USB and pump starts reading values again within 20 minutes.

@MenKuch : welcome to the community....

MenKuch commented 7 years ago

@volkerrichert I was speaking about disconnecting the transmitter/sensor.

Sadly, I am still using 4.2 on an older Sony phone, so the only method available is set (setExact and setAlarmClock are not available).

volkerrichert commented 7 years ago

on older API version setExact should be exact. But the alarms are delayed? is there a difference being on battery or powered?

volkerrichert commented 7 years ago

If your having 4.2 (API 17) the uploader is using set(). Do you have something like a "smart manager"?

volkerrichert commented 7 years ago

maybe this one ??? http://www.tomsguide.com/faq/id-2334205/battery-life-sony-xperia-phone.html

MenKuch commented 7 years ago

@volkerrichert Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, set() is used on this phone since the API version is too low for setExact or setAlarmClock. I've deactivated every battery saving feature previously (like the sony stamina mode), did not made any difference.

have you access to the logs? There are entries like

12-17 21:50:56.943 30709-30709/info.nightscout.android D/MedtronicCnlAlarmReceiver: AlarmManager set to fire at Sat Dec 17 21:50:57 MEZ 2016 .... late .... 12-17 21:50:57.974 30709-30709/info.nightscout.android D/MedtronicCnlAlarmReceiver: Received broadcast message at Sat Dec 17 21:50:57 MEZ 2016 12-17 21:50:57.984 30709-30709/info.nightscout.android D/MedtronicCnlAlarmReceiver: AlarmManager set to fire at Sat Dec 17 21:56:28 MEZ 2016

I want to be sure the alarm is missed. Can you confirm it? Is there a difference being plugged?

csibenightscout commented 7 years ago

Do you know whether this issue (#51) has anything to do with the CNL being set as auto send fingertip results to the pump? Shall I set this config as ASK / Never ?

pazaan commented 7 years ago

@csibenightscout It shouldn't do, no.

volkerrichert commented 7 years ago

i think we can really close this... Right?

pazaan commented 7 years ago

I think so - @Pogman - thoughts?

Pogman commented 7 years ago

I really think this is done and I can find no evidence after much testing and trying to force a --- situation.

In fact my pump has not changed channel in over a month even in very noisy environments.

I would be quite comfortable in calling this closed.

cool.
