Blank figure window on run (OS X) #71

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Own a mac with latest, python, associated packages and other update
2. Run any of the VisVis examples

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? => A grey window labeled 
'figure'

Ran using the latest VisVis on 10.8. I also checked my version of python, 
wxPython, pyOpenGl and Numpy. In additnioa I ran a few checked on the pyOpenGl 
installation and that worked fine.

For some reason no matter what I try it just shows a blank grey window. Any 
thought?

I would suggest trying a different backend. I know several people who run 
visvis without problems on a Mac (with the Qt backend).

Working on it, it seems that getting Qt backend working is not super simple 
i'll let you know once i have it installed and running.
