Extra dot appended to sections in French appendices #254

This is in the appendices.

How to reproduce? Run this unit test: https://github.com/pbs-assess/csasdown/blob/e909aa5cfdd60445bdbd39af0b10383f927c512d/tests/testthat/test-render-resdoc.R#L46-L53

This is with TeXLive 2024, but I think the issue is also there with 2023 and tinytex. The issue is likely in the appendix processing code in R.

Pandoc version (the one bundled with RStudio):

rmarkdown::pandoc_version()
[1] ‘3.1.1’
