Uses the pieces discards. Either keep multiplying by average weight or use as count (but then face challenges in forecasts at fixed catch levels).

Hopefully not too cumbersome to present tables of historical/modern catch?

I was really really trying to avoid that because of the time we or CSAP will have to spend making both the French and English PDFs screen reader friendly for long tables... but I'm not ruling them out. At the very least, we can make make a new figure or split the existing figure 4 so that both discards and landings are on their own facets and therefore readable. Possibly point to a .csv in the codebase?

OK, I'm increasingly thinking of just putting catch tables in after some year.

Revisit the 9 lbs per discarded dogfish assumption. Calculate based on trips with weight and count? Or enter as numbers and face this issue only when doing projections with fixed catch weight.
