I added an unholy matrimony of Nimble and RTMB in the code repo here. https://github.com/pbs-assess/renewassess/blob/main/code/RTMB/NimbleExample.r

I used Nimble to sample the parameters in MCMC and RTMB to do the Laplace integration of the random effects just to show it can be done. Not that it should be... :)
