Crashes on iPhone 3G trying to play any story

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Open frotz
2.select any story
3.crash to desktop

What is the expected output or behavior?  What do you see instead?
expect to play story, crashes instead. 

What version of Frotz are you using?
1.5(latest)

What device model are you using (iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPod Touch 3rd gen,
etc.)
iPhone 3g

What version of iOS?  3.2, 4.0, 4.3, etc.)
4.2.1

Please provide any additional information below.
App been installed since much earlier version (1.2 I think) and upgraded as 
updates arrived. 
Tried removing and reinstalling - same problem.
