Reading from Drive-Cache ? #173

Hi there.

Probably a stupid question.

How can I make sure that rubyripper is - when reading the 2nd
time the ripped track - not reading the drives cache out?

Cheers

Tracks that are so small that they can be stored in the drive cache will likely
be
read from cache. Let's see 800MB == 80 minutes of music. 1MB = 1 minute of
music. So
read the amount of cache from your cd-drive manual and figure out yourself how
long a
track your drive can cache.

With EAC you can turn the drive cache off. Are you not re-reading a small part
of
the track if you encounter read errors?
