It takes the PPM about 10mm to stop from full speed with the current specifications. I need to increase the deceleration to 1000 mm/s^2 to achieve a stopping distance of 5mm for when we eventually increase the top speed to 100mm/s. This will allow us to safely stop without overshooting the limit switches.
The PPM's top speed needs to be reduced to 65 mm/s (did I already do this?) and the state transition speeds need to be decreased to 65 mm/s as well. We will need to tune the control loops to hit higher speeds than this.
