Investigate BPTM timeout and BP mismatch in states test demo #177

Current Behavior

See title: there is a BPTM timeout and BP mismatch fault in the states test demo that might be a testing artifact or it might be real.

Expected Behavior

Make this go away: either fix the bug if there is a bug or fix the test/demo setup.
