The configuration buttons are starting to get excessive. It would be more compact and flexible to have a configuration section using combo boxes rather than buttons, like in the dummy screenshot below. These combo boxes could still be populated by the configuration file.
This will require changes to the config file structure, as well as an extension of how the configuration is applied to support other types of devices, like the laser locker.
